Another injury :(

My friend Hoover is making me look bad because she is posting everyday. I barely can find time to do the necessary things.

The only news I have for today is that Christopher fell on the slide at daycare and busted his lip. The teacher said he held ice on it for 1 minute then threw the ice away. So now my son has a fat bottom lip and a wound on his forehead. He also has bruises all over his shins - also from the slide -- not sure what the fascination is with the slide. Tony does take our dogs to the park and the dogs do obstacles on the slide. Maybe that is what Christopher is doing?

1st Day of Daycare

Christopher's First Day of Daycare.

Christopher started daycare this week. I was very nervous about sending him. I was worried because the kids in his class (age 1-2) sit at a table and eat, and color, and read books, and sleep on cots. I kept saying - he can't sit at a table - he needs a high chair, he can't color - he will eat the crayons, he can't play with books - he will rip the pages, and sleeping on a cot - he will not lay down. I still think of him as a baby, though he is much more independent and is a toddler. I stayed home from work on Monday to take him on his first day. He was a little afraid when I dropped him off. But when I came back to get him, he didn't want to leave. He has met a lot of kids and loves playing on the playground, he does sit at the table but doesn't eat much still, he does color with the other kids and does eat the crayons, he did sleep on the cot and didn't run away. Kids are much more resilient than adults. When he walked in the teacher said - Look we have a new friend and all the other kids came over to play - no questions. That never happens in the adult world. On Thursday the daycare called because Christopher had a fever and is not allowed to stay there with a fever - so I had to take off work and Friday Tony had to stay home with him. He is OK, he is just getting a few more teeth. He has 7 now - but I can feel 3 breaking through. His fever is gone now - but he is drooling horribly.

You can see in the photos that Christopher has a few butterfly band aids on his head - he fell and cut his head. He is so active and physical.

Today is Mothers' Day - I love being Christopher's Mom and couldn't image any title more important. I have been working on my orphanage fundraiser the past couple of weeks and my heart hurts for all the children that do not have the love of a parent.

My Life2Orphans fundraiser is a yard sale on May 31, June 1 - if you want to donate any items, or help work or shop - call me or stop over. My goal is to raise enough money to buy new bedding for 138 children in the Sumy Orphanage.

Happy Mother's Day.

Love
